Closing Date for MENA Travel Awards Entries

Dubai, March 2004 - Middle East and North Africa countries
are being
reminded that the closing date for entries for the first
ever MENA Travel
Awards event is March 26th.
“The MENA Awards recognize excellence, innovation
and dedication across
many aspects of the tourism industry,” said organizer
Sam Saker of Regional
Vice President of CHA (Consultants of Hospitality Administrators). “The
winners of this event will establish new qualitative
benchmarks
that raise the Middle East and North Africa’s
competitiveness in the world travel
and tourism market.”
There will be 54 winners in this specially devised
awards program who will
be judged by end users and travel trade professionals
by means of voting cards
that each entrant submits. Adjudicators will then reveal
the top three outright
winners, Platinum, Gold and Silver, for each of the 18
categories.
Candidates for these categories cover 5 and 4 star
hotels, airlines, spas
(separately located or within hotels), golf courses,
car rental, duty free,
conference & convention centers and tourism projects.
The entrants must
have been operating for 12 months prior to the entry
deadline, although hotel
soft openings between January-April 2003 and tourism
projects operating since
June 2003 will be eligible. It is also possible to enter
more than one category
as there are several Awards that suit multifaceted candidates,
such
as Best 5-star business / corporate hotel, Best conference
/ convention
hotel, Best price value hotel, etc.
These award recipients will be honored in front of
an audience of more
than 500 top industry figures at the Al Bustan Rotana
Hotel in Dubai
during a special gala dinner on May 6th.

منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا عن 26 مارس كموعد
نهائي لإغلاق المشاركات في جائزة مينا للسفر التي تعد
الأولى من نوعها في هذا المجال.
ويقول منظم مشروع الجائزة السيد سام صقر نائب الرئيس
الإقليمي لدى رينارد هوسبيتاليتي
ورئيس تشا (استشاريو مدراء الضيافة): "سيكون للفائزين
في هذا الحدث المهم الفضل في
تأسيس علامة رائدة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال
أفريقيا وذلك في عالم السفر وسوق السياحة".
ويتضمن برنامج الجوائز المبتكر 54 فائزاً تشرف عليهم
لجنة من المحكمين وأخصائيي تجارة السفر والسياحة
من خلال بطاقات الاقتراع التي يقدمها كل مشارك. ويعلن
الحكم عن أول ثلاثة فائزين، حيث يتم منحهم الجائزة
البلاتينية والذهبية والفضية في كل من الفئات الثمانية
عشر.
ويغطي المرشحون لهذه الفئات فنادق 4 و 5 نجوم، خطوط
الطيران، السبا (الواقعة ضمن أو خارج الفنادق)
، ملاعب الجولف، تأجير السيارات، السوق الحرة، مراكز
المؤتمرات والاجتماعات والمشاريع السياحية
، وعلى المرشحين أن يكونوا على رأس عملهم قبل 12 شهراً
من موعد الترشيح. كما سيتأهل
للمشاركة في هذه المسابقة الفنادق التي تم افتتاحها
مبدئياً في الفترة ما بين يناير وأبريل 2003
والمشاريع السياحية التي يتم تشغيلها منذ يونيو 2003.
ومن المحتمل المشاركة في أكثر من فئة،
حيث أن هناك العديد من الجوائز التي تناسب المرشحين

Market will see the unveiling of the
first ever MENA Travel Awards on Thursday 6th May at the Al
Bustan Hotel in Dubai.
Created to celebrate the skill, creativity, ingenuity and
success of the Middle East and
North Africa’s growing travel industry, there will be
57 winners in this specially devised
awards program. “It is very important to recognize real
talent and superior service in our
industry to stimulate even higher standards and to applaud
the effort made by so many,”
says Sam Saker Regional Vice President of
CHA(Consultants Of Hospitality Administrators)
the organizers of the Awards. “That is
why we have very carefully designed the MENA Travel Awards
to follow very specific
procedures to ensure they are first class and have real merit.”
Key to the judging criteria will be the (100) voting card
that each entrant submits. These are completed equally by
the entrant’s selected end users, guests, customers
and trade professionals, who are requested to state their
preference along preset criteria / categories and score them
accordingly.
Successful entrants in each of the categories will be acknowledged
as finalists and will be
considered one of the best in their category / industry sector.
Adjudicators will then reveal
the top three outright winners, Platinum, Gold and Silver,
for each of the 18 categories,
at a special gala dinner.
All entrants will be carefully judged by their end users,
and then the over all voting outcome
will be diagnosed by
to ensure integrity. Entrants will also have the
right to audit the final results of selected finalists and
Award winners.
“What makes these awards so important is that they
cover all key travel and hospitality
industry sectors” explained Mr. Saker. “This also
acknowledges the tremendous breadth the
whole industry offers today and its continued strive for excellence.”

at the Al Bustan Rotana Ballroom in Dubai. A reception will
be held at 8:00 p.m with dinner served from 9:30 p.m.
The MENA Travel Awards also offer excellent opportunities,
for industry Vendors and supplying companies, through specific
sponsorship packages, to sponsor the event, the awards or
as an exclusive strategic partner or simply conduct event
program advertising.
Entry to the first MENA Travel Awards can be made online

each entry. Entries must be submitted by 22nd March 2004.
